Phishing becoming increasingly brazen

Anyone who has always thought that they could easily see through the various scams and phishing attempts should take a closer look in the future. I have noticed that the quality of fraud attempts has increased significantly in recent times. Some technologies (not least AI) now allow data from different sources to be combined and phishing attempts to be targeted at individual users with laser precision rather than being distributed indiscriminately. Those who do not pay close attention and are not fundamentally sceptical about sharing data are more likely to make a serious mistake, and this is where the real problem lies:

Fraud attempts are now very difficult to distinguish from legitimate business transactions. We have become too accustomed to carelessly passing on our data without questioning its purpose and use. Even passing on PINs to access your bank accounts has become commonplace thanks to service providers such as ‘S0f0rtüberweisung’. To authenticate legitimate customers (known as KYC), a wide range of data is requested as a matter of course, so it is no wonder that customers are losing their sensitivity to data sharing. The consequence is as follows: anyone who insists on data protection must nowadays also reject many established and legitimate companies. This would be necessary in order to enjoy a high level of protection in the long term.
