Happy weekend with: Riechmann – Wunderbar

I must admit that I have a soft spot for Krautrock. With the advent of synthesizers, music became more experimental than ever before. In a sense, it was a precursor to all the electronic music we know today, but less playful.

Wolfgang Riechmann, after gaining experience in various bands, sadly did not live to see his debut album as a solo artist. I think he played a part in giving electronic music a friendlier and more melodic costume, and one can only wonder what great things he would have been capable of had he lived longer. Riechmann was stabbed to death a few days before the release of his last album while walking in downtown Düsseldorf.
